64-bit Snapdragon 410 from Qualcomm

After Apple announced that their iPhone 5s has a 64-bit CPU all other smartphone manufacturers started aiming at that goal.

Qualcomm yesterday announced that it has a 64-bit mobile chipset – the Snapdragon 410. Curiously, it is not a meant for the high-end devices, but one lower-end ones with a price of around $150.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 gives users 4G LTE connectivity, Adreno 306 GPU, and support for 1080p video playback plus cameras of up to 13MP.

For those of you who have more than one SIM cards, but want it in a single device, the Snapdragon 410 supports Dual and Triple SIM configurations. Other than that it offers standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and FM radio and GPS with GLONASS support.

The chip will support all big mobile operating systems - Android, Windows Phone and Firefox OS.

The first devices with such chip will be available in Q3 or Q4 of 2014.
